The Mariautis Mission was born from a powerful combination of love, grief, and purpose.

It exists to offer what Antônio José , a brilliant, sensitive autistic father , could never find when he needed it most: support, understanding, and hope in the face of depression while living with autism.

The idea for the Mission came from his deep desire to protect his daughter, Maria, a nonverbal autistic child, from ever experiencing the same pain he carried in silence. For years, Antônio battled depression. One day, he could no longer bear it and chose to leave this world ,  but not without a final wish: that we continue caring for Maria, and extend that care to other children, so they may grow up with emotional support, mental health care, and dignity.

Only after his passing did we discover what he had never been able to say out loud: Antônio was autistic too.

In his memory, we carry his mission forward, together.

The Mariautis Mission is the place he dreamed of but never found. 

A place where autistic people and their families are not only supported, but truly seen, heard, and embraced.

Here, we build a bridge between science and spirituality, research and empathy. 

Through workshops, articles, mentorship, community visits, personal storytelling, and emotional care, we open the door to healing, belonging, and hope.

We also honor Antônio’s legacy through his daughter, Maria.
She is our light.  She is our purpose.
And so are the countless other “Marias” around the world , autistic children who deserve to live free from shame, silence, and isolation.

With every donation and every act of love, we provide therapy, dignity, and a future full of possibilities.

Because no one should face depression alone.
And no autistic voice should go unheard.

Mariautis is not just a mission.
